Fundraising
Our primary fundraising activity is a yearly raffle, held during the Independence Day festivities and parade. This raffle serves as OFFF’s main source of funding. These funds enable us to carry out vital community initiatives expanding what we cover in our fire safety education program, support our volunteer firefighters with essential equipment not provided by the Fire District, and foster a safer, stronger Oakville.
How OFFF Supports Our Community
OFFF’s mission centers around giving back to the Oakville community through a variety of programs and services:
- Giving Tree: Each year, OFFF participates in our communities Giving Tree program and together with the Oakville Chamber of Commerct, we collect and buy gifts for families in need during the winter holiday season. These gifts are then secretly delivered to the home with wrapping paper and tags for families to wrap with love and place under the tree.
- Food for the Holidays: Every year, we organize a Santa food donation event. We bring Santa on his sleigh around town to collect non-perishable food items and take pictures with him. All the collected food is then delivered to the Oakville Food Bank to ensure that families have access to essential supplies throughout the year. Last year, the High School basketball team joined us in collecting food along the way and donated the proceeds from their school games that week to purchase special items for the food bank.
- Fire Safety & Prevention Education: Working closely with the Oakville School District and Chehalis Tribal Ealry Learning Head Start, OFFF conducts fire safety and prevention activities to educate children and promote safe practices within our community every year during fire prevention week.
- Emergency Family Support: When families are displaced due to house fires or other emergencies, OFFF provides short-term aid to help stabilize their situation until other agencies can step in with long-term assistance. This can be a very confusing time and we can help with the short term, while setting up a path to the right recocources towards recovery.
- Youth and Community Engagement: We firmly believe in nurturing the next generation by supporting youth sports programs in Oakville. By doing so, we ensure that our young residents have access to healthy activities and opportunities for community involvement. You’ll always find us on the sidelines of a home game.
- Gear and Equipment Support: Funds raised by OFFF support us in acquiring essential equipment that our district cannot afford because of prioritizing operational needs that benefit our patients. This enables us to better serve and protect our community.
Get Involved and Show Your Support
Your support through our annual raffles or donations makes all of these programs possible. Together, we can continue to serve, protect, and uplift our community. Whether you participate in our raffle, volunteer your time, or make a donation, every contribution helps us make a meaningful difference in the lives of Oakville residents.
Thank you for supporting Oakville Firefighters for Families — because when our community needs us most, we’re all in it together.
